Life Embodied Art Practice
Romeo Candido is an Emmy-nominated director and award-winning creator whose work spans film, television, theater, and music. As a showrunner, he led Gangnam Project, multiple seasons of the hit series The Next Step and Topline. His diverse TV credits include Workin’ Moms, Popularity Papers, Circuit Breakers, Son of a Critch, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Another Life. In the documentary space he lead the CBC ARTS unit and produced over 400 documentaries and over 100 episodes of factual television.
A versatile storyteller, Romeo has written, directed, and composed acclaimed projects such as Topline, Prison Dancer: The Musical, and the feature films Ang Pamana: The Inheritance and Lolo’s Child, earning critical praise and multiple awards.
Beyond screen and stage, Romeo is a member of the Filipino electronic music collective DATU and has crafted original scores and sound design for award-winning theatre productions for the Stratford Festival, Crows Theatre, National Arts Centre, Soulpepper Theatre and the Citadel Theatre. His dynamic career reflects a passion for innovative storytelling across multiple mediums.

LEAP is a creative intensive for artists across disciplines, held online with the possibility of in-person connection. It’s a space to finally bring your masterpiece to life—surrounded by a community that believes in process, purpose, and each other.
